Thelda Casper Print

     Thelda Fairchild Casper, 86, of Greenleaf, ID, formerly of Oakley, ID, died Thursday, February 11, 2010 at her home. 

altFuneral Services will be held on at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, February 15, 2010 at the Oakley LDS Chapel with burial to follow in the Oakley Basin Cemetery.  A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Church from 12:00 noon to 12:45 P.M.  Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian, ID. 

     Thelda was born in Oakley, Idaho to Clarence and Ruth Fairchild on July 9, 1923.  She was raised in the Basin and graduated from Oakley High School.  She continued her education at Albion Normal School and became a teacher.  In 1945 she met Francis W. Casper and they were married 5 days later in Elko, Nevada.  Their marriage was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on March 23, 1951.  They were married for 55 years, living in California, Utah and Idaho.

     In addition to teaching school Thelda worked for many years as a manager at Louise Gardens in Salt Lake City.  She loved quilting, gardening, camping and reading. 

     Thelda is preceded in death by her husband Francis, son Jess C. Casper, daughter Lois Jungvig, 1 sister, and 5 brothers.  She is survived by her children, Jill Dowd (Rodney) of Greenleaf, ID, Kent Casper (Susan) of W. Valley City, UT, Paul W. (Sharleen) Casper of Nampa, ID and Gwen (Timothy) Kuehl of W. Jordan, UT, 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, brother LeRoy Fairchild, sisters-in-law, Verdene Fairchild and Suzu Fairchild.            

     Memorial contributions may be made in Thelda's name to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.  Condolences may be made to the family online at www.accentfuneral.com

Dearest Jill and Family, So sorry to hear of your loss. We received your message this evening and are very sorry not to be able to attend the services but will have you in our thoughts and prayers. Please contact us when you have some time we still have the Fairchild pix we would love to share with all of you. Maybe after things calm down for you give a call and we can arrange a Saturday afternoon to go thru them with you and yours.
