Steven J. Petersen Print
Steven James Petersen, a dear heart, left this body of suffering on August 17, 2011, having fulfilled the good plan God had for his life, to enter into the loving comfort and rest of his Holy Heavenly Father. altSteve went from the arms of his family, released and held in the arms of his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. Steve was born August 12, 1954 in Blackfoot, Idaho, grew up in Missouri, Wyoming and California, returning to Idaho in 1993. Steve was married in 1977 to his forever sweetheart Becky.  Steve’s greatest joy was being Matthew, Daniel and Timothy’s father. As a dad, he was present, involved for every step of their growing up and then so blessed to witness what incredible, amazing and godly men they are.  His blessings increased by the beautiful daughter’s he gained because of the wonderful wives they each married and then the beautiful grandchildren they gave him.  He was proud of being a faithful employee of Hewlett Packard for 33 years. He was also proud and blessed to finish his career by working at HP for an outstanding employer Beyondsoft Consulting, Inc.; with an extraordinary group of personnel and co-workers who became friends and whose support through his sickness overwhelmingly blessed his heart.  Steve was a happy, friendly, manly man; who enjoyed sports, motorcycles, camping, traveling and was a diehard fan of John Wayne and the San Francisco Giants and 49ers. He was an exceptional bowler, wonderful coach, gifted handyman, our number 1 car guy. He was thankful to be a part of the Vineyard Meridian Church and for Pastor Randy and Reeni Rodes and everyone of our church family. He was grateful and upheld by all the many prayers, prayed by so many. Steve holds a huge place in our lives and hearts, he is abundantly loved and will be sorely missed by his wife, Becky; son, Matthew (Heather); grandchildren: Hannah, Jeremiah and Eliah; son, Daniel (Holly); granddaughter, Faith; son, Timothy (Hannah); sister-in-law, Noel (Andrew) and nephew, Joshua O’Shea, 2 sisters, 1 brother and spouses, numerous extended family and several nieces and nephews. Revelation 21:3-7.  A memorial celebration of Steve’s life will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 9:30 am at Merrill Park, 637 E. Shore Dr., in Eagle.  Remembrances may be left for the family online at www.AccentFuneral.com.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian.

I was a colleague of Steve's at HP and I am so sorry to hear of his death. We did not work directly together but Steve was always so friendly that he knew everyone. He was kind, gentle, an excellent co-worker and had such a great sense of humor. My condolences to the family. The world has lost one of the good guys. Sincerely, Linda Jensen
