Ruth “Carole” Olson, 66, was taken home peacefully to be with her loving Lord Friday, July 2, 2010 at Capitol Care and Rehab Center of Boise following years of fighting a long and hard battle with MS.
A memorial service will follow at 7:00pm. Carole was born on July 1, 1944 in Richmond, IN. to Nathan and Ruth Cushard. She was raised in California where she graduated from Blackford high school located in Campbell, CA in 1962. She became a hair dresser in 1963. Carole met her husband Malcolm “Mac” Olson, roller-skating on a blind date. They married on Dec. 5, 1964. Carole loved animals, especially dogs. Gospel music was a big part of her life. She was very talented and creative. Survivors include her husband Mac Olson of Boise, brother Bill Cushard of Nevada, sister Joan VanGorkom of Mariposa, CA, son Christopher Malcolm Olson of Santa Clarita, CA, son Sean Olson of Baltimore MD, grandsons Ryan and Matthew Olson and granddaughter Sydney Jo Olson. Carole was a wonderful loving and compassionate wife, tremendous mother, outstanding Christian woman who was deeply loved and touched the hearts of all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to: Mills Church, P.O. Box 747 Owings Mills, MD 21117 where her son Sean is planting a church.
