Robert S. Day of Kuna died at age 88 in Boise on November 18, 2009.
Bob farmed and raised registered Jersey cattle in the Treasure Valley his last 53 years at Kuna, Idaho. He enjoyed sharing his experiences and wisdom with others, especially youth, through church scouting, 4-H clubs and community groups. He was also active in many farm organizations including the Meridian Dairy Show Board and the Western Idaho Fair Board. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Robert W. Day, three sisters: Birdie Dalrymple, Phoebe Kelsey, Lucille Keebaugh; his brother, George and grandson, Dale. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy and four children: Pat Day Hartwell (Jack), Gary Day (Sandi) both of Idaho Falls, Ken Day (Phyllis) of Mackay and Christine Fairchild (Mick) of Kuna; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and his sister, Dorothy Osborne of Nampa. Robert's memorial service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 21st at the Kuna Baptist Church at 1250 N. Linder Road with Pastor Scott Piper officiating. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian. The family would like to thank the Veterans Hospital and Community Living Center for their care and kindness. Mr. Day was born in Boise on February 8, 1921 to Stanley R. Day and Bertha M. Ringer Day. He graduated from Kuna High School in 1939. He married Dorothy E. Stephens of Wilder on September 9, 1943. He served in the U.S. Navy Sea Bees during World War II.
