Richard Neil Ankenman, 75, of Boise, died Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at his home. A Celebration of Richard's life will be held at noon on January 7, 2012 at 2525 Bruins Circle, Boise.
 Richard was born on April 10, 1936 in Wilsonville, Nebraska to Gerald Neil and Thelma (Balderson) Ankenman. He graduated from Boise High School and serviced as a Military M.P in the Army. He married Norma J. Steinebach on August 20, 1962 and they were the parents of three girls. Richard was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman. He shared his love for the outdoors with his children and grandchildren. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed get-togethers with both.
Richard worked as a diamond driller, carpet layer and he worked for Mitch Welsit at St. Alphonsus as an electrician until his retirement.
Richard is survived by his daughters: Dawn Martin of Missoula, MT, Carolyn Keeney, of Plains, MT and Rhonda Herrick of Boise, granddaughters: Destiny Martin and Jessica Keeney; grandsons Levi Ankenman, Tyler Keeney, Adam Quarnstrom, Anthony Quarnstrom, great-granddaughter Julian Keeney and life-long friend, Norma J. Steinebach. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, brother, brother-in-law and son-in-law.
Cremation arrangements were under the Accent Funeral Home, Meridian. 888-5833.
