Meridian resident, Ralph T. Brasfield passed away with pneumonia April 5th. He was 86 years old. Ralph has made his home in Meridian since 2005.
Following the war, Ralph continued his studies at Sacramento State College, graduating with a degree in Business Administration. During the 1950’s, Ralph worked for Shell Oil Company holding various positions in Northern California, before moving to Woodland, California in 1959. While in Woodland, Ralph was employed by Yolo Engineers & Surveyors until his retirement in 1981. Ralph lived in Oroville California for 24 years before relocating to Meridian. Ralph is survived by 2 sons, James and William Brasfield, 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.

Ralph was born and raised in Aberdeen Washington on July 9th 1923. Following graduation from Aberdeen’s Weatherwax High School in 1941, he attended 1 year at Sacramento State College in Sacramento California before being drafted into the Army following the start of World War 2. Ralph served as a combat medic in the European Theater participating in several major campaigns, including the Battle of the Bulge.
