Nancy Dokken Print
On October 15th my Lord and Savior took me gently home.
I was born July 26, 1944 to John and Thelma Grow in a log cabin in Benewah, Idaho, surrounded by my loving siblings and parents. I grew up in the St. Maries and Coeur d’Alene areas, graduating from high school and Junior college in CDA. After teaching several years in Oregon I returned to Idaho and graduated from the U of I.

After 32 years of teaching  in Oregon, North Idaho, and Boise I retired in 2002. I have many fond memories of  working with the children, parents, and professionals.

While teaching in North Idaho I met and married Bill Dokken who worked

for the Idaho Parks and Recreation Dept. and last year we celebrated our 39th anniversary. We  adopted  two wonderful children, Tessa Price of Nampa, and Nicholas Dokken of Boise. They have given us the most beautiful grandchildren who have brought many hours of wonderful sharing of their lives.

Along with teaching and raising a family I was active in the Boise Education Association, Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority and church activities. After retirement I returned to school and became a certified health care

clown, volunteering many hours at St. Lukes and St. Als hospitals and doing

special events. I loved my clown friends and their commitment to humor in a medical setting. “Thanks gals for all the laughs“.

One of the gifts of a journey with cancer is the time to reflect on ones life. I was blessed to be raised in a Christian home, surrounded by loving people all my life. I had an abundance of “soul” sisters and friends and a loving

family. Rejoice with me for I have crossed over to a heavenly place and I

pray I will see you again.

Thanks to my doctors and the caring staff at the Cancer Care Center at St. Als and Horizon Hospice.

Nancy is survived by husband Bill; daughter Tessa and husband Garrett, two

granddaughters Kami, and Brooklyn; son Nicholas and wife Patsy and

grandson Jonah; and four siblings; Jim Grow of Dalton Gardens, Phyllis Herboldt of St Maries, Larry Grow of Coeur d’Alene, and Kathy Hiebert of Dalton Gardens.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to Camp Ivydale, Church of Christ, 2000 Eldorado St., Boise, Idaho, 83704. A short celebration service will be held on Tuesday, October 20th at the Church of Christ, 2000 Eldorado St., Boise, Idaho at 11am. followed by refreshments in the fellowship hall.
