Mary Louise Chapman Print
Mary Louise Spaulding Chapman was also known as Mo-Wee, Mary Lou, Lou Lou, Babe and the Boss.
mary Chapman Mary Lou was born in Boise, ID on August 24th, 1917 to Laura (Mott) and Ryland Gorton "R.G." Spaulding.  She passed away March 10, 2010 at home with family in attendance.

She was raised in Boise with her four siblings and graduated from Boise High School in 1936 (was on the BHS 50th year reunion Committee, see page 3 of the "Courier").  Mary Lou also attended Lindenwood College in St. Louis, MO for awhile, until she missed her family and her "Tye" so much, she decided that being home with her loved ones was just more important than a college degree.  Mary Lou missed her gal pals a lot too.  Someone heard Tye refer to them as "That Gaggle of Giggling Girls".

She was the only one of her siblings not to be delivered by her grandmother, Mary E. (Gorton) Spaulding, M.D. as the doctor was retired in 1917.

Over her 92 plus years, she worked very hard as a housewife and mother, caregiver, medical secretary, optician and was the only advisor to her best friend Tye.  Sometimes if Tye was asked for his opinion on something, he would smile and say, "Check with the boss and I'm sure she'll give me my opinion".

Everyone who encountered her, fell under her spell of kindness and love.  She said, her life was amazing because of all the people she had in it.  In reality we are the lucky ones.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her mother, father, brother, Almon and her sisters: Helen, Marcella and Victoria; and the love of her life, C.H. "Tye" Chapman and her beloved son, R. Gregg Chapman.

Mary Lou is survived by her son, Mark James Chapman and grandsons: James Gregory Chapman and Dylan Dean Stocker, other survivors are Meg, Kasi, Justin, Tyler and David.  Her nieces are Marilyn H. Brown, Connie (Spaulding) Hartley, Joan (Spaulding) Pellham, Paula (Fitzke) Beck, Sara Spaulding-Phillips.  She also had fifteen great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 15th at Morris Hill Cemetery.

Mary Louise would want any memorials to go to Diabetes Research or Alzheimer Research.   Condolences may be left for the family at www.accentfuneral.com .
