Larry L. Morris, 63, of Payette, died peacefully Thursday, Apr 23, 2009, at his home.
In the spring of 1967, they moved to Anchorage where he worked on the Alaska pipeline, drove a mail run with Consolidated Freight, played ice hockey and coached peewee league. In 1970, they returned to the Magic Valley with their first born, Sid. While growing a bean or two, three more children joined them, Jenny, Becci and Rob. Larry enjoyed singing barbershop, bowling on leagues, playing paintball, racing pony cars, reading westerns and the daily coffee shop gang. He seldom missed one of his kids’ sporting events or many hobbies. When Larry stopped farming in 2002, he drove for UPS and transferred to Payette, the land of golf, fishing and wildlife watching from the back porch. After retiring, you could find him giving his kids golf advice, feeding quail in the yard, discovering new places and new friends in their RV, and watching grandkids’ sporting/drama events. Larry loved his family, being a good neighbor and visiting with friends. His growl demanded attention, his song left you singing, and his laughter was contagious. Survived by the love of his life and best friend, Nancy of Payette , his four other best friends and their families: Sid (Shauna) Morris of Eden – Jerad, Taylor, Bradley, Bryce; Jennifer (Carl) Coombes of Pocatello – Jasmine, Audrey; Becci (David) Tupper of Hagerman – Zarek, JC, Holly (Nate, Colby, and Cheyanne); Rob (Annella) Morris of Boise – Tyler, Tegan; a sister, Billilou Barnes of Kimberly; a brother, Kenneth (Linda) Morris of Kimberly; a sister-in-law, Janet Morris of Twin Falls; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ron and Chris Revels. He was preceded by his parents and brother, David. The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Apr. 28, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Filer, with Pastor Andy Morris officiating with visiting afterwards. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday April 27 at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home in Twin Falls from 6 to 8 p.m. Private burial will be in the Filer Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.accentfuneral.com
