Hillis "Cliff" Parmelee Print
Hillis "Cliff" Parmelee Jr., 80, of Meridian, died Thursday, May 12, 2011 at his home.   An open house will be held in Cliff's honor from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 1150 N. Maura Avenue, Meridian, Idaho.  Condolences may be left for the family online at www.AccentFuneral.com.   Memorial contributions may be made to the Meridian Senior Center, 133 W. Broadway Ave., Meridian, Idaho 83642. altaltCliff was born on September 27, 1930 in Denver, Colorado.  He served as an airman in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954 at Williams AFB in Chandler, Arizona.  On August 18, 1951 he married Aurora Flores in Chandler.   He graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts (1957) and a Masters of Arts in Music Education in 1958.  Cliff taught in the Arizona public school system for two years then spent the next 28 years as an educator in the Pueblo, Colorado public school system.  Cliff was a member of the Pueblo Symphony Orchestra for nearly 20 years.  He enjoyed fly fishing, camping, archery, dancing, bowling and travelling.  Most of all he enjoyed practicing and playing several different instruments, specifically the piano and violin.   He was a member of the Church of the Holy Nativity in Meridian and the Meridian Senior Center.  Cliff is survived by his wife, Roe Parmelee, his children: Robert Parmelee of Pasco, WA, Richard Parmelee of Meridian, ID, Tom Parmelee of Scottsdale, AZ, Linda Winston of Pueblo, CO, Becky Garner of Fountain, CO, Rudy Parmelee of Rio Ranche, NM and Kathy Henry of Meridian, ID, sister, Roberta Guinn of Denver, CO and brothers, Lloyd Parmalee of Genoa, CO and Gary Parmelee of Colorado Springs, CO, he is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Accent Funeral Home 1303 N.
