Donna Jeanne Baker passed away peacefully in Boise, Idaho, on November 16, 2011, of complications from heart failure.
Donna entered this world on November 29, 1950, the second of four children born to Arlene and Ralph Baker. Raised in northern Orange County, California, back when citrus groves, eucalyptus and avocado trees, and strawberry fields grew rampant, Donna graduated from Brea High School. Over the years she enjoyed vacations in Montana, where she learned to ride horseback and fish the scenic Rocky Mountain streams. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from California State University at Fullerton and a master's degree in counseling psychology from National University in San Diego. Donna served during the 1980s and 1990s as a social worker and counselor with several agencies in California.
In 1999 Donna settled in the Boise area. She continued working in the human service field while enjoying the beautiful outdoors and perfecting her trout fishing skills. Despite worsening health, Donna loved camping, gardening, and cooking (her blueberry pies are famous).
Donna is survived by her siblings, Carole Baker of Arlington, Virginia; Larry Baker of Bandon, Oregon; and Beverly Grebe of Vancouver, Washington; and by several nieces and nephews as well as grand-nieces and -nephews. Donna's beloved Siamese-mix cat, Bramley, has immigrated to Oregon with Larry and reminds us all that life should be lived with curiosity, tenacity, and freedom.

I was one of Donna's caregivers for the last part of her life. I wished we had met long before her illness. She did some great things in her life we would have enjoyed together. God bless her family during this time of mourning.
