Long time Weiser resident Donald Elton Langley passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital in Boise, Idaho, April 16, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 24th at the Calvary Chapel, 1775 Alameda Dr. Ontario, OR.
Born in Ontario, Oregon, February 20, 1934, Don was the eldest son of Harry and Mildred Langley. Don grew up on the Langley Family Ranch and attended Lime School thru the 8th grade. Don married Annetta Widener July 14, 1956. Born to Don and Annetta: a son Victor, January 17, 1959 and three beautiful daughters, Carolyn, July 23, 1961, Donna, August 13, 1966 and Virginia, February 9, 1969.Don began working with Richard Cartwright Construction, Morrison Knudsen and traveling all over the State of Oregon with road construction and running heavy equipment. Don returned to the ranch after the death of his father in 1966. Don and Annetta worked the ranch until the loss of our beloved son and brother Victor E. Langley November 4, 1968. Don moved his family to Weiser, Idaho November 1969. Don farmed for Oran Boyer, and then began working at Champion Home Builders until his retirement. Don worked for Dwayne Gibbs, on the Oregon Slope, farming for a few years, then delivered Avon in the Treasure Valley area. Don enjoyed traveling with Good Sams Club. He loved helping all of the campers get settled into their camp sites. Don was always helping family and friends when they needed help. He could never say no and everyone was a friend. Don is survived by his wife of 53 years, Annetta M. Langley; daughters: Carolyn & Ron Lawrence, of Irrigon, Oregon, Donna Langley-Leischner, of Yakima, Washington, Virginia Langley of Weiser, Idaho and granddaughter Julianna Leischner. Don is also survived by his siblings: Earl & Bonnie Langley of Huntington, Oregon, Ivan & Carlee Langley of Huntington, Oregon, Kenneth Langley of Union, Oregon and Ruth & Dan Sanders of Umatilla, Oregon. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death his son, Victor Elton Langley, his father, Harry Elton Langley, mother, Mildred Esther Langley and sisters: Carolee McClain and Marjanne Van Fossen.
