Dominico Nilo Print

Dominico L. Nilo, 86, of Boise, Idaho, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011, at home with his wife and four children at his side.

altaltHe was born, raised, and educated in the Philippines. He received a degree in civil engineering from National University in Manila. He married Glorina F. Ortaleza in 1951. His profession led him and his family to Thailand and Guam. In 1995, he and Glorina moved to Boise, Idaho to enjoy their retirement with their children and grandchildren.

Among the joys of his life were reading, solving crossword puzzles, and watching golf on TV. But, besides his family, what he was most passionate about was growing a vegetable garden. He cultivated an enormous array of Asian vegetables, even in Boise, with which he generously shared with family, friends and neighbors.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, his children: Arlene (Eric), Dominic Jr. (Jessie), Jo Ann (Jim), and Phyllis (Carlos), and nine special grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 7960 W. Northview in Boise.  Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian.  Remembrances may be left for the family at www.AccentFuneral.com.
