I am so sorry for your loss. Dan was a good man. I remember at St Joe's him and I playing together on the playground and basketball our 8th grade team winning state. He always had a zinger for you, I'll miss that. Also playing at his house and Mrs. Bither telling us to stay out of trouble, but Dan and I always found some bike trail to ride or going to Mr. Nelson's house to look at the hawks and other birds. He was a fun guy!I will miss him.

I wish to express my heartfelt condolences to the entire Bither family. I had the privilege of working with Dan the past 9 years at Ft. Boise/FCHS. We had a number of common interests which sealed our friendship...sports, beer and most notably the music of the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia. He was as caring, humorous, and genuine as anyone I've ever met. I consider myself privileged to have known and worked with Dan. I miss him, but truly believe that Dan is in heaven right now grinning from ear to ear while he jams with Jerry. God bless all of you!

Dan embodied a huge heart and I know he will be missed by his family. We shared a classroom and a tough year- and Dan always helped me out when I needed to take care of my children- even when he was helping to take care of his dad, battling the infection in his knee and keeping a never ending supply of oreo cookies in his desk for our classroom kids. A very special man.

I had the absolute pleasure of knowing Dan for the last 7 years. He not only was my neighbor, but he was also my friend. I have never met anyone as caring and wonderful as Dan. He was always there to help out in a tough situation or just to sit around and chat. He was by far the funniest person I've ever known. I have many great memories of my time spent with him. I admired so many things about Dan and he taught me a lot about life. My children and I were truely blessed to have known him. I will forever miss you buddy, but I have to believe that you are in a far better place now than we are, and we all have an angel watching over us now. You are finally free of pain and suffering. May God be with the Bither family, and all those whose lives were touched by this amazing man.

My condolences to the Bither family. He was a great man who passed his wisdom onto those who wanted it. I don't know if I could have been successful as a young teacher without the help of Dan. FCHS will not be the same without you, bro. WE will miss you D to the B!

Wow, I am in utter shock. I was one of his students. Dan and I had a bond like no other. He was not just my teacher, but my friend. I talked to him about my problems, and we related to one another like a father to his child. When I moved out of state, we still kept in contact, and I would go see him every time I came to town for a visit. I just tried emailing him, as I am coming for another visit this weekend, when my email was declined, and I stumbled across this page. I was only a student, and this has broken my heart. My condolences go out to every one whose heart he touched. He has not been a teacher of mine for 11 years, and he has always remained a part of my life. I love you Dan! Famous words to me every time I told him I was driving down for a vist...."thats sounds like a long drive from nowhere thru nothingwhere to zerosville "
