Clara Mary Lesiak Rabbitt Berns, 82, of Meridian ID, died Tuesday May 11, 2010 at her home. A funeral mass will be held in her honor at Holy Apostles Catholic Church in Meridian, ID. Thursday May 13, at 10:00 AM. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian. Clara was born on March 6, 1928 to Valentine and Marianne Lesiak in Detroit Michigan. Clara was raised by Thomas and Doris Rabbitt of Newport Michigan. In 1945 she graduated from St. Mary Academy of Monroe Michigan. In 1951 she married Louis A. Berns at St. Charles Catholic Church in Newport MI. Throughout her life she was a member of St. Charles Catholic for 74 yrs. Clara was a member of the Christian mother of St. Charles, a campfire leader, a volunteer at Mercy Memorial Hospital, Heart Beat and Life, member of Frenchtown Senior Citizen of Monroe Michigan. She is a member of American Legion Unit 113 of Meridian Idaho, St Vincents De Paul Society; the Young at Heart Senior Citizen, NCCW, and Soul Purpose community of Holy Apostles Church here in Meridian. She is survived by her husband Louis A. Berns, two sons Mark Berns, and Chad (Rose) Berns. Daughters Rebbecca (Kevin) Winston, Constance (David) Leach, Chris Anne (Frank) West. 12 grandchildren and 5 step grandchildren, two great grandchildren and 3 step great grand children. She was proceeded in death by her grandchild Francis West, three brothers Joseph Lesiak, Walter Lesiak, Alex Lesiak and one sister Charlotte Campbell.
