Cecelia "Ceil" Deuel Print
Cecelia “Ceil” Deuel, 70, of Meridian, Idaho, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 30, 2011.  Her passing leaves a deep hole in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.  She will be profoundly missed.

altBorn on January 3, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan, she was lovingly adopted by Albert and Edith Amer.  At 22, she met and fell in love with a gentleman named David Negrete and had two daughters.

Ceil was a successful real estate agent in Kern County, CA and enjoyed several years in various cooking positions, until she retired at the age of 51 with her second husband, and love of her life, Horace “Mac” Deuel. Together, they enjoyed woodworking, fishing and camping, and rarely left each other’s side.

After Mac’s passing, Ceil made the move to Meridian, ID in 2005 to pursue her new role as doting grandmother.  She quickly became a diehard Steelhead and Bronco fan and spent many hours indulging in her favorite pastimes of gardening, Bingo, Wii bowling, and cards with family and friends.

Throughout her life, Ceil loved her family implicitly and never let a day go by without letting them know it. Always humble, her greatest joy was doing the small things in life that made others feel special.  A proud supporter of our Veterans, donor for cancer research, a gullible supporter of school fundraisers and the Arbor Day Society (she gave trees to everyone), and countless others, she gave unreservedly. She leaves behind a legacy of selflessness and generosity.

Ceil is survived by her loving daughters, Cecelia Marie Kemper of Bakersfield, CA and Kathryn Brown, son-in-law Todd Brown, granddaughter Elise Brown of Meridian, ID and her two beloved kitties, Mr. Chin and Sandy.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 6300 N. Meridian Rd. on Sat., July 9th at 10:30 AM, followed by a celebration of her life and luncheon at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints Stake Center on Black Cat Rd. Remembrances may be left online for the family at www.AccentFuneral.com.  Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian.

Ceil grew up in Michigan with many cousins who shared with her all things kids and teenagers do. Karen Asher and myself were the two cousins who lived in the same city as Ceil (St. Clair Shores). As teenagers we would go out every Friday night and share gas cost to go to movies and drive in pizza place. My cousin Ceil was a good human being who had many challenges early in life, and she pushed forward and conquered them with optimism and confidence . She was a good friend to her peers, and always was generous with her time and understanding with them. --always the friend who tried the hardest to be pleasant with everyone. We three cousins. Ceil, Karen and myself, had many good times together which will always be remembered by me. Ceil moved to California, married and had two lovely daughters. Then, the granddaughter who stole her heart. R.I.P., cousin. You will be missed by all. A successful life.
