Carol Ann Pilate passed away at home in Meridian, ID on May 20, 2010. Carol was born in Los Angeles, CA on Feb. 15, 1942, the younger of two children, to Harry and Dorothy Lee.
 Carol graduated from Culver City High School in 1959. She attended Santa Monica City College. She married Donald Stearns and they had five children and were later divorced.
Carol married Larry Pilate in Long Beach, CA in 1975, and moved to Idaho in 1982. Carol worked for the Idaho Dept. of Fish and Game for a number of years. Carol loved to travel, and accompanied her husband on many of his business trips. Following retirement they enjoyed many years of traveling this great land of ours. She loved the Lord and centered her life around her Church and her family. She loved to read, crochet, camping, cross-country skiing, and serving her Lord. Carol was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Dorothy Lee, her son Robert Stearns, and her brother Larry Lee. She is survived by her husband, Larry Pilate; daughter Debra Stearns, Orange, CA; son Rick Stearns (Karen), Tehachapi, CA; son Tim Stearns (Jean), Fountain Valley, CA; daughter Cindy Smith (Scott), Pollock, ID; step-daughter Michelle Saunders (Jim), Harpswell, ME; step-daughter Jennifer Pilate-Saunders (Bryan), South Portland, ME, thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. The family extends a very special thanks to St. Luke's Hospice, Kendra and Kenette for their many hours of devoted and loving care; also to Treasure Valley Bible Church for their loving support and prayers. Larry, I worked with Carol at Fish and Game. She was my friend and we walked together on our breaks. I am so sorry for your loss.

I was so saddened to hear of Carol's death. I knew her back in High School in Culver City. We graduated the same year. I am living in Emmett, ID now and to think I lived this close and didn't even know it. Please accept my deepest condolences and know she will be remembered.
