Allen D. Stroebel Print
Allen Dean Stroebel, 61, passed away Tuesday, Sept 6th, 2011 at home in Meridian .  He was born April 8, 1950 to Marion and Helen (Madden) Stroebel of Kuna, the third of four children.  altAllen grew up on the family dairy farm on Stroebel Road, was a long time 4-H member and earned several blue ribbons with his registered Holstein cows, Ribbons and Pinkie.  He graduated from Kuna High School in 1968 and went on to study auto mechanics at Boise Junior College, (now BSU.)

Allen worked at various jobs requiring mechanical and truck driving skills including Boise Winnemucca Stages, Pumice Products, Kent Trucking, Feller Trucking and P.I.E. tanker division.  He worked for Treasure Valley Concrete for 13 years before moving into industrial sales.  He owned and managed American Diversified Supply for 11 years until health concerns forced him to retire.

Allen had many interests.  He loved being a father, coaching his own kids and others in athletic activities and felt teaching them life lessons was one of his biggest rewards.  He often answered their questions with a question of his own, encouraging them to be independent thinkers.  Allen had an inquiring mind and was skilled at figuring out how things operated.  He enjoyed working on race cars and owned an STR Modified race car.  For 20 years he served as launch director for the Boise Hot Air Balloon Festival.

Allen leaves behind his wife, Lisa Byington, of Meridian; sons: Sean Stroebel (Trina) of Kuna, Shelby Stroebel of Meridian; step-son, Kole Sutton of Meridian; step-daughter, Charlee Ditto of Blackfoot; sister Marlene Thurman (Dale) of Loveland, Colorado; brothers: Vern Stroebel (Stella) of Kuna; Gene Stroebel of Meridian; grandchildren: Kyrstie, Bailey, Madison and Ryan Stroebel of Kuna and Caitlin Stroebel of Meridian; step-grandson, Blake along with many extended family members.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 12th at the Kuna  Baptist Church, 1250 N Linder, Kuna, ID.  Memorials may be made in Allen’s name to Hearts and Homes Hospice, 3557 E. I have two stories about Allen, I would like to share with Allen's family. 1)I bowled with and against Allen for several years. One night, Allen bowled a 600+ series, I wasn't bowling with him or against him that night. I gave Allen a bad time because I have been bowling longer him and his had first 600+ series before me. 2) One night when Allen, Richard Smith and I were bowling on the same team and that day was my birthday. Allen and Rich got me drunk. I was so drunk, they drove me home. The next morning, I was still drunk and I couldn't call my supervisor or the owner to tell either one that I wasn't coming that day. Both of them was mad at me for not calling in. Allen was a good friend to know. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.
