Adeline Wheeler Print
Adeline Wheeler, 85, of Meridian (formerly of Mountain Home) passed away unexpectedly at her home on August 20th, 2009.  A vigil service will be held at 7 PM Tuesday, August 25th, at Holy Apostles Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 at Holy Apostles Catholic Church.

altShe was born June 18, 1924 in Dietrich, Idaho to Adrian and Celestina Berriochoa.  As a freshman in High School she moved to Mullan, ID and met the “one and only” love of her life Tom.  They married Feb. 13, 1943 and had 43 years of marriage before Tom passed away in 1986.  They moved to Mountain Home in 1949.  She was a homemaker and babysat until her youngest started to school and then she went to work for the Mountain Home School District as a cook.  She worked at Mtn. Home Jr. High, East Elementary and Mtn. Home High School.  In 1991 she moved to Meridian with her daughter.  She worked as a hostess at Express Café for a few years which she enjoyed very much and met many people.  She was a member of Holy Apostles Catholic Church.  She was very active at the Meridian Sr. Center where she played Dominos on Monday, Pinochle on Monday and Tuesdays, volunteered on Wednesdays in the dining room and was an avid Bingo player every Friday night.

She loved watching NASCAR with Kyle Petty being her favorite driver, when he retired she cheered for any Petty Enterprises drivers.  She traveled three different times just to meet and get her picture taken with Kyle. Her other passion was the Boise State Broncos which she was anxiously awaiting the kick-off of the 2009 season in two weeks.  She traveled to Tennessee to watch them play in the Liberty Bowl and to Arizona to watch them play in the Fiesta Bowl.  She attended all the home games and always managed to make it to at least one away game.

She is survived by her sons: Tom Wheeler Jr. (Vada) of Otis Orchards, WA; Gib (Leianne Hintz) Wheeler and daughter Mary Wheeler of Meridian; her grandchildren: John (Emily) of Caldwell, Trinity (Rachel) of Meridian, Nichole (Dre) of New Mexico, Edie of Payette, Liz of Mountain Home, Natasha of Grand View, Michele (Steve) of Massachusetts, Sherry of Spirit Lake, ID and Robert (Jana) of Boise; great-grandchildren: Dieter, Margie, Aidan, Chloee, Nakiyia, Jacey, Evan, Nicolas, Mason, Thomas, Alysa, Autumn, Austin; David, Nicolas, Shawnee, Michele, Christopher, Matthew and 13 great-great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brothers: Lou and Albert Berriochoa and her sisters: Mary Downes and Ruby Jensen and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  She recently had the pleasure of meeting a first cousin from Mexico City.  She was preceded in death by her husband Tom, her parents, one brother, Val and one sister, Ellen.

Mary, My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Your Mom will be missed by all at Friday night bingo with her smiling face. Tom, Gib & Mary, My condolences to you and your families. Your mom and dad was so wonderful to Gay, Dary and I. We loved going to the games and whenever a bus was not going to a game, we knew we could depend on your parents to give us a ride no matter what the weather. I have very fond memories of those days and the love that your parents gave us. May God bless you with peace and love throughout these lonely days and moments.
